Compliance Officer

Overview

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for governance, compliance, and continuous improvement? We are seeking a dynamic Compliance Officer to join this team and play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our compliance, governance, and assurance framework.

Benefits

Hybrid working with regular travel across sites
Full-time – 38 hours per week
Salary - £29,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience)
Contract:6 months

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the organisation’s compliance framework.
  • Manage compliance registers, trackers, and monitoring systems.
  • Support managers in understanding and meeting compliance obligations.
  • Escalate compliance concerns and risks to the Compliance Lead.
  • Conduct internal compliance audits and prepare services for external inspections.
  • Monitor and track completion of audit actions and improvement plans.
  • Assist in the administration of governance processes and maintain records.
  • Support policy reviews and coordinate actions from governance meetings.
  • Prepare reports for Board and Committee presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with UK GDPR and Data Protection legislation.
  • Maintain safeguarding compliance records and support incident monitoring.
  • Assist with investigations and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
  • Produce compliance reports and dashboards.
  • Analyse compliance data to identify trends and support organisational assurance.

Qualifications

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant qualification in governance, compliance, business administration, or a related field (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Experience in a regulated environment, supporting audits, and maintaining compliance systems.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, governance principles, and risk management processes.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience in charity, health, social care, or housing sectors.
  • Knowledge of Charity Commission requirements, CQC regulations, safeguarding legislation, and GDPR.
  • Experience supporting Board or Committee governance.
