Compliance Manager
Overview
Are you a seasoned compliance professional with a passion for governance, risk management, and regulatory assurance? We are seeking a dynamic Compliance Manager to join this team and play a pivotal role in ensuring our organisation operates to the highest standards.

Salary £43,000 - £46,000 (depending on experience)
Contract:** 6 months

Responsibilities
- Lead compliance arrangements across all regulated and non-regulated services.
- Ensure adherence to CQC regulations, Charity Commission requirements, and other statutory obligations.
- Act as the subject matter expert on compliance and regulatory assurance.
- Coordinate responses to regulatory inspections and external audits.
- Develop and maintain the organisation’s governance framework.
- Prepare quarterly compliance and assurance reports for the Board of Trustees.
- Maintain and manage the organisation-wide Risk Register.
- Oversee risk management processes and promote effective mitigation strategies.
- Develop and deliver an annual programme of internal compliance audits.
- Establish assurance metrics and compliance KPIs.
- Drive continuous improvement by benchmarking performance against sector best practices.
- Oversee the organisation’s policy governance framework, ensuring alignment with legislation and best practices.
- Maintain oversight of safeguarding governance arrangements.
Qualifications
- Degree-level education or equivalent senior experience.
- Relevant professional qualification in compliance, governance, quality, or audit.
- Significant experience in a compliance, quality, or governance role within a CQC-regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding legislation, and GDPR requirements.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering internal audit programmes.
- Ability to prepare and present reports at Board or Committee level.
Desirable
- Experience within a charity, health, social care, or housing environment.
- Knowledge of Charity Commission requirements and charity governance.
- Experience supporting or performing a Data Protection Officer function.
- Familiarity with services supporting individuals with sensory impairments or learning disabilities.
