We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities

As a Finance Assistant, you will:

  • Process purchase invoices, expense claims, and supplier payments.
  • Raise sales invoices and monitor accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures.
  • Support payroll administration as required.
  • Handle supplier and customer queries in a professional manner.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

Qualifications

  • A willingness to study or be currently studying towards a finance qualification (e.g., AAT).
  • Previous experience in a finance or administrative role (desirable but not essential).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (SAGE 200 is ideal).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Day-to-Day

Your typical day will involve:

  • Reviewing and processing financial transactions, including invoices and payments.
  • Reconciling accounts and ensuring all financial records are up to date.
  • Responding to queries from suppliers and customers.
  • Collaborating with the finance team to meet deadlines for financial reporting.
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks and projects.
