Compliance Lead
Overview
Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for international trade compliance? We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Compliance Lead to join this team. In this pivotal role, you will develop and implement robust import/export systems and processes that align with our business objectives while ensuring strict adherence to international trade regulations. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in managing documentation, streamlining processes, and driving compliance excellence across our operations.

Responsibilities
- Streamline the process of export licenses, including Standard and Open Genera licenses
- Manage import/export documentation, processes, and systems throughout the entire Sales–Despatch process, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and shipping documents.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as Sales, Production, Engineering, and Finance to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with customs requirements and third-party guidance.
- Work closely with logistics providers, freight forwarders, and carriers to prepare and manage import documentation and maintain Broker Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customs officials and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with import/export regulations.
- Conduct internal and external audits.
- Prepare documentation related to violations and disclosures, and provide training to employees on export and import compliance matters.
- Stay updated on international trade agreements and customs requirements.
- Deputise for team members as needed and positively represent the role of Compliance Lead.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in import/export compliance, international trade, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, including export licenses and customs requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage complex documentation and processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in managing relationships with customs officials and regulatory bodies.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
