Financial Accountant
Overview
We are recruiting a Financial Accountant to join a high-performing and growing business operating within the construction materials sector. Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounts in accordance with IFRS, with particular focus on:
- Lease accounting (IFRS 16)
- Goodwill and intangible asset treatment
- Production of consolidated group accounts, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
- Ownership of statutory accounts preparation and acting as a key point of contact for:
- External auditors
- Internal audit processes
- Leading audit preparation, ensuring robust documentation, controls, and timely delivery
- Preparation and review of monthly management packs, providing clear commentary and variance analysis
- Supporting FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis (beneficial but not essential)
- Working closely with Management Accountants to:
- Plan workloads
- Set and manage timelines
- Ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality
- Contributing to continuous improvement of financial controls, processes, and reporting standards
- Supporting senior finance stakeholders with ad-hoc analysis and projects as required
Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong technical accounting background with demonstrable IFRS experience
- Proven experience producing consolidated accounts
- Solid understanding of audit requirements and experience managing audit processes
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines
- Confident communicator, able to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or product-based businesses is advantageous
