Buyer
Overview
Due to continued growth and being the market leader in what we do, we are seeking a driven, confident, team centric Buyer to join our Head Office function, working with the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials and services to support our sales operations. This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Head Office in York.

Responsibilities
- Source materials to meet customer requirements.
- Identify shortage or lead time issues in bills of materials and report information to the sales and customer service teams.
- Place and expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain stock levels of key materials through monitoring lead times, min/max levels, and customer requirements.
- Offer product alternatives in cases of long lead times.
- Support the purchasing team with administration tasks and cover for team members during absences.
Qualifications
- Some previous commercial buying experience is ideal in either Engineering, Construction, IT, Manufacturing sectors BUT solid office administration experience is also great to have!
- Experience using business software ideally (ERP/MRP).
- Strong excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
