Update with Richard 22nd Aug: He went in to a bit more detail and has said that he feels that the role would suit someone from an agency background or someone who has had experience working with multiple brands. They have 5 businesses that operate within the Fortus group - all FS / professional services (insurance / brokerage / Accountancy) plus the Fortus foundation - which is a charity. Therefore there is quite a bit of diversity in projects and he feels someone from an agency background (or similar) would have that breadth of experience. He feels that he needs more of a generalist - some CV's have been too focused on digital. Email marketing is a big thing / campaign management etc. He said that he is looking for a bigger cog in a smaller business - not the other way around.
Re: Copywriter, the same applies someone who has worked on multiple brands / understands changing tone of voice / working on multiple projects within Fortus. So an experienced freelancer with a solid portfolio / agency background / multiple brands.
Lots of change in the business over the last 18 months. They were a much bigger national business with £25m t/o and 300 staff. They sold off the Midlands and South and are now £6/7m t/o and 100 staff.

They are now starting the process of building the business up again.
They have the HR dept with 2 people - Emma and Zoe.
They use a range of recruiters but has agreed exclusivity on 3 marketing roles.

To cover maternity but he is hoping that he will keep this person on so there will eventually be x 3 (the one who is there, the return from maternity and the new one recruited)
Interview structure - Teams - just Rich / small task (max 2 hours) / F"F with Rich and HR
They are quite flexible on hybrid - typically 3 office / 2 home but they don't enforce this
Rich goes on holiday on 20th August for one week

This will be very informal.
