Overview

A dynamic and forward-thinking manufacturing business based in Northallerton, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented General Ledger Specialist to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This part-time role, requiring 20 hours per week over 5 days, offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to contribute to our financial operations and reporting processes.

Responsibilities

As a General Ledger Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of the companies financial records and supporting key financial processes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing general accounting activities, including General Ledger (GL) and fixed assets.
  • Reviewing and reconciling General Ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Preparing and analyzing commercial finance reports to support decision-making.
  • Utilizing SAP ECC/S4 HANA systems for accurate financial data management and reporting.
  • Assisting with group reporting requirements to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Supporting external audit processes by providing accurate and timely financial information.
  • Contributing to budgeting and forecasting activities to support strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in general accounting, with a strong focus on GL and fixed assets.
  • Demonstrated expertise in commercial finance reporting.
  • Proficiency in SAP ECC/S4 HANA systems.
  • Familiarity with group reporting processes and external audit requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • A professional accounting qualification is desirable but not essential.
